Grey Lite Theatre
presents "Unsung Cole (And Classics, Too)" Words and Music by Cole Porter Conceived and arranged by Norman L. Berman Directed by Susan J. Nelson From the Director's Chair WELCOME TO OUR NEW THEATRE! We are so very excited about our location and at long last to be in our very own home. What better way to celebrate a grand opening than to do it ala Cole Porter style. His musical genius is paralleled by no other American writer of his time. His uncAnney wit is shown through his lyrics to his songs. He lived life to the fullest and gave back to us some of that lust for life by leaving a legacy of music that will live forever. On our stage you will witness some of the finest talent that the Fort Wayne area has to offer. I am proud to have had the opportunity the work with this multi-talented cast. Their love of performance and their genuine love for the theatre is evident as they sing Cole Porter songs that are familiar, as well as sing the unfamiliar selections. This company of singers is sharing with individual musical interpretations if each piece some of the lyrics are silly, some are sad, and others are just plain fun! Cole Porter had the unique way to weave the lyrics and the music together, allowing this cast to be creative with their interpretation. My sincerest THANKS and gratitude to Dorothy Escosa, pianist, Judy David, "my partner in crime" Robert Young, and Chris Chapman for coming to my rescue, once again. Thank You to all of the people that volunteered their time to help open our theatre. You truly are appreciated! And noel to you, the audience, please, enjoy this wonderfully talented cast in UNSUNG COLE (and Clasics, Too!)
